The creative process

Red Guru AI-assisted music, human-led from the first note.

Red Guru uses technology as a creative instrument: the artist provides the melodic seed, subject, direction and final judgement.

What the term means

Assisted is not the same as automatic.

“AI-assisted music” describes a process in which a human artist uses AI tools to help develop or arrange creative material. For Red Guru, a song does not begin with a request for something random. It begins with an original hook, a hummed melody, a lyrical theme or an instrumental direction worth pursuing.

The artist decides what belongs, what changes and what finally gets released. That distinction matters because the emotional intention and musical taste guiding the work come from a person, even when a new production tool helps realise the arrangement.

01

The melodic seed

A hook is sung, hummed, played or recalled. The central idea originates with Red Guru.

02

The human brief

Theme, mood, instruments, tempo and emotional direction are chosen for the song.

03

Assisted exploration

AI tools help turn the idea into possible arrangements, textures and supporting parts.

04

Selection and release

Red Guru evaluates the results, reshapes the direction and chooses the finished version.

In practice

The Tide began as a hum.

Red Guru supplied the hook that became The Tide’s repeating piano motif, then directed the musical palette around it. Strings, hip-hop rhythm and R&B vocals expanded that seed into a finished song while preserving the identity of the starting melody.
